It was certainly good again to be back at Golden Sands Resort Penang. Reminds me much of my time when I had my industrial training back there, ages ago though. For this time around, Golden Sands Resort Penang is offering delicious flavours and taste from all over with their on-going "Around The World Buffet Dinner.
Instead of the usual air-conditioned dining, Garden Café welcomes diners to an open aired ambiance surrounded by lushes of green.
Time to explore the myriad of bursting flavours on the buffet line. Shall we?
Starting off the appetite indulgence are the Salad and Appetizers section. From pre-mix salads such as Corn and Filament Crab Salad, Chipotle Dash Grilled Chicken Caesar, Labanese Tabbouleh, Greek Tattouch to fresh highland greens. Comes with a number of condiments and dressings for you to choose from.
The display of Chilled Poached Prawns, Mussel and Smoked Salmon looked like a huge appealing platter for seafood lovers.
Off to some hearty soup to warm the stomach. 2 choices of soup, the Minestrone Genovese and Szechuan Hot and Sour Soup. Get some bread rolls and everything is just perfect.
Bringing you some Egyptian flavour with the Egyptian Chicken Shawarma with condiments and Arabian Bread. It's not always that we come across Shawarma on the buffet line but once when it does, it is just simply irresistible.
While on the Carvery section, the Roasted Chicken with Home-grown Garden Rosemary on Bruised Cherry Tomato was tender, juicy and offered a nice fragrant aroma. While beef lovers will love the Roast Beef with Dried Spiced Rubbed on Grilled Pepper and Onion.
The "Hotplate" Action Station offers Malaysian delights such as Malaysian Chicken Murtabak and Roti Canai. That and Dhal Vegetable Curry, nothing beats that.
Fried Rice Noodle or known locally as Char Koay Teow is something you wouldn't want to miss out on. Afterall, Penang is famous for Char Koay Teow.
Another favourite of mine, the Chicken Cordon Bleu with Remoulade Sauce.
If lamb is your love, then you will fall for Lamb Chop with Thyme Reduction. Tender lamb covered in delicious Thyme sauce.
Syrian Beef Kebab with Mint Sauce
Mediterranean Baked Egg Plant with Pasta and Potatoes
This was the bomb, oozing heavenly load of cheese was just so appetizing.
Savour away into a bowl of delicious Penang "Curry Mee". The fragrant creamy stock together with the other ingredients makes one craving for more.
Milano Pasta Station is where you get your pasta cravings fixed. Pick your pasta from the choices of Spaghetti, Penne, Tagliatelle, Fusile and Macaroni and sauce such as bolognese, napolitana, marinara and my favourite among all the cabonara.
They serve not 1, not 2 but 3 different types of pizza. It's pizza time!
Kids are going to be so happy when they see the kids corner. Everything back here is colorful and adorable. Looks tempting as well.
Spaghetti and sausages to finger food, cakes and desserts, I think I could use a table at that section too haha. I will probably be the biggest kid there enjoying all the food and drinks there haha. There was even a chocolate milk dispenser, that thing certainly got my attention.
Finally, to end the meal with some mouth-watering sweet treats. Satisfy your palates with dessers such as banana bread and butter pudding, cinnamon apple strudel, French mini pastries, profiteroles with chocoalte. Tiramisu, Chocolate Royale and many other interesting creations.
Not to forget all those juicy fresh tropical fruits to enjoy as well.
