Delicious Chinese Meal at Sea Queen Restaurant, Straits Quay Penang.

Thinking of somewhere new for delicious Chinese cuisine? Perhaps Sea Queen Restaurant at Straits Quay Penang would be the place for you to dine. Located at the end of the Straits Quay building just by the sea, Sea Queen Restaurant offers quite a wide range of food choices in their menu.

Set in a new and cozy ambiance, you will definitely love dining here. I am fortunate to be given the opportunity to try a few of their dishes from their menu. So let's have a look at what they have to offer.

First was a rather appetizing item. Deep Fried Soft-Shell Crab with Salad and Mustard Sauce. When you have crispy soft-shell crab with the sauce. Perfect match. I could have the whole plate to myself ..ok ok maybe 2 plates haha

Next up was the Roasted Chicken in Thai Style. Well base on the name, one would have assumed it would just be the whole chicken roasted spread with some Thai sauce on it but here they serve the dish in 2 different parts, one will be the roasted chicken while the other will be the chicken meat mixed together with into a Thai style chicken salad. Fantastic!

Now this is something I have not eaten in a while, venison. It was my luck that they served, Braised Venison with Special Sauce in Stone Pot. Looked simple yet delicious.

Seafood lovers will certainly love the Deep Fried Crab with Rock Salt and Spices back here. The crabs cost about RM12 for every 100g. While the one we had here was approximately 600g each.

Nothing like having prawns that are fresh. The Deep Fried Prawn "Tian Jin" Salad with Crispy Cheese is something to look out for if you are there. The crispy cheese on the prawns does give it a very nice taste to the dish.

As for the vegetables, it was Stir Fried Angel Luffa with Shi Meiji Mushroom & Black Fungus

Before dessert, they served the Sea Queen Special Mixed Fried & Crispy Rice. First impression it was like seeing coco puffs just that it wasn't coco but rice puffs. haha.. This dish is truly something one of its kind.

Alternatively if you would like some noodles, you could also try their Stir Fried Hor Fun with Seafood & Egg Sauce or the Stir Fried Rice Vermicelli & Glass Noodles. Generous serving with loads of ingredients.

The moment I have been waiting for, it's time for desserts! The Chilled Osmanthus Jelly was something nice to wind down after the heavy meal. Had a stronger infused taste of Chrysanthemum in it.

Chilled Lemon Grass Jelly with Lime was truly refreshing. Served with lime sherbet. Mixed it together and you have a dessert which will make you crave for more.

You may also head over for dinner with the family to enjoy the delicious dinner package.

  1. Saw the good reviews in website so decided to bring my in-laws for dinner. Knowing that suckling piglets have to be ordered in advance so order and booked table afew days ahead. Nice ambiance when we walk in, we were ushered to our table, were given 2 menus despite there is 4 of us. My wife and my father in law made ordering and confirm of our pre ordered piglet and ordered a few more dishes including shark's fin soup. Then comes the crap service, Imagine in fine dinning the shark's fin soup came as the third dish. Usually it will be served after the appetizers but we didn't ordered any. And then all the other dishes came out except the piglet, which usually the dish to come out after the soup. when inquired, the guy in the suit said that they are very busy, we were at the ground floor and they were less then half of the tables had diners. Then sarcastically he said they have 3 floors of dining area. Finally we got tired of waiting I ask a lady also in suit to cancel the piglet and ask for the bill as all the other dishes including rice had finished. She went into the back which is out of our sights, then 5 mins later our piglet came out. So for Chinese fine dinning restaurant this place really crap out in service. No apologies were given as seems like its our fault to have chosen to eat there.
