I was thrilled as this was my first visit to review the food at Lone Pine Hotel Penang. With Chinese New Year just days away, bring the family over to The Bungalow as the chefs are ready to storm up the kitchen with an array of delicious authentic Chinese New Year cuisine to welcome the year of the monkey.
To start off, there is the Yee Sang and somehow Chinese New Year is never complete without the tossing of Yee Sang that symbolizes abundance in wealth and prosperity. So make sure you toss it really high.
Ala carte Yee Sang is available for order from Feb 5 until 15 Feb at RM88nett for a 6 people portion, RM108nett and RM128nett for 8 people and 10 people respectively.
Guests with table reservation for six and above will receive a complimentary plate of Yee Sang.
The Yee Sang back here is pretty adorable as it is done in a figure of a monkey.
As for the soup, there is the Seafood Pumpkin Soup with Assorted Breads and Butter.
Love your greens? The salad bar offers items such as Iceberg Lettuce, Romaine Lettuce Radicchio and Frizee Lolorosa
There is also a variety of sushis and cold cut platters.
There you will also find Pineapple Salad, Calamari Salad, Kerabu Chicken Salad, Glass Noodle Salad, Tuna Nicoise Salad, Japanese Baby Octopus Salad mixed salad with assorted condiments and dressing.
It's been a while since I last saw Pie Tie been made available on the buffet line and it was good to see it being served here.
For the hot dishes, you will find delicious items such as Slow Braised Duck with Vegetables, Chicken Curry Kapitan, Deep Fried Golen Sand Prawn and much more.
Time to feast into some delicious meat such as the Roasted Duck, B.B.Q Chicken Wing and Lamb Char Siew. The lamb char siew was rather unique as the norms that you get is usually chicken but using lamb was rather special.
If you love grilled items, then you will find the grill station offering quite a variety of items for you to choose from. They have Lamb Chop, Chicken Satay, Chicken Sausage, Grilled Salmon Steak, Tiger Prawn and Scallop. Now that is enough to make you wanting more rounds of these too.
Now time to end the meal with appetizing and irresistible desserts. All the sweet treats that you certainly would love to have. Loving all the items such as Orange Cake, Chocolate Brownies, Cream Caramel Pudding, Mandarin Orange Tart, Cheese Cake, Walnut Tart, Mango Pudding, Warm Chocolate Pudding, Chinese New Year Cookies and Ice-Cream.
Last but not least, fresh tropical fruits.

You may pop over on the first day of Chinese New Year and join the management, staff and toehr hotel guests at the lobby foyer at 11am as they welcome the auspicious year with lion dance, acrobatic performance and lighting of fire cracker.
To complete the ushering of Lunar New Year, guests are also invited to join in the giant Yee Sang tossing at the Batubar.
