Mai Pi Makan Ala-ala Kampung Ramadhan Buffet at Lexis Suites Penang

I was pretty excited as this was my first ever Ramadhan review back at Lexis Suites Penang. Apart from all the nice decorations in place all set for the Holy Month of Ramadhan, the gorgeous food spread was simply appealing to the eyes and tastebuds.

Experience a different dining experience back here as the Ramadhan buffet is set in a Kampung-themed Ramadhan tent by the beachfront, located just behind the hotel. Imagine enjoying your meal looking as the beautiful scene of sunset, then stars twinkling away. Certainly something unlike the norm.

Alright so let's have a look at what awaits you for this coming Ramadhan. There's more than 100 choices to choose from, therefore be prepared to be spoilt for choices :)

Starting off with the appetizers such as Ulam-ulaman that comes with 3 different types of sauce to choose from.

Kerabu Sotong, Kerabu Udang & Kerabu Pucuk Paku.

Fresh Garden Vege

Apart from that, you will also find items such as the various types of dates, jeruk buah and even rojak.

Pre-mix salads are also made available for you to enjoy.

I enjoyed the creamy and delicious Hummus which we don't always get.

That is one huge ikan masin.

One of the local favourite item, the sup gear box. Nicely seasoned with such flavourful stock.

Sup Ayam Berempah, a very simple dish but yet still a very popular item. The taste you would get back in the kampung or from mother's cooking.

Now off to some hot dishes. Everything just looked simply amazing. Each pot offers such appealing dish, that just compliments well with the nasi tomato. Dig into the favourites such as ketam masak sambal, telur ikan masak lemak pedas, ayam percik, ekor lembu assam pedas, sotong masak kunyit and many more.

There's  heapful of the Executive Chef's signature dishes, the Lamb Kuzi is certainly one of it that you should try. Cooked to perfection, offering a nice tender bite with a taste so nice that you would want more of it eventually.

Back at the Arabian corner where Shawarma is being served. Just be cautioned as the red sauce that is available does delivery a spicy punch. "Boss tolong bubuh sikit aje ya..nanti peluh banjir saya" haha

There was also the action stall that served roti jala as well as char koay teow kambing. If you didn't know, the Malay style of char koay teow is wet and has it's very own unique taste as well. I actually loved the one back here too.

Don't miss out on trying the satay and pasembur too.

Now to my favourite part, desserts!

Nice moist chocolate cake is hidden behind the cresent shape.

That is surely one big "ketupat" cake.

Apart from cakes, local kuihs are also served to your to indulge away like the popular kuih talam, kuih lapis, kuih ketayap, kuih sago and many more. "Semua pun best!"

By just looking at these fruits on display, I wished I had a bigger tummy to fit everything in haha..

Penyet Pisang

End the meal with some nice icy treats such as our favourite ice kacang and ice cream.
