Taiwan Expo 2019 to Wow Penang For the First Time

There so much to love about Taiwan and get all excited as this year marks the very first time Taiwan Expo 2019 will be held in Penang. Taiwan Expo has been held successfully for the past 2 years in Kuala Lumpur and this year, it makes its way to Setia SPICE Convention Centre , Penang on the 5 & 6 July 2019.
Taiwan Expo 2019 has selected six main exhibition categories tailored to Penang’s
development roadmap to help foster closer partnerships between Malaysia and Taiwan. The six
categories include :
-Industry 4.0
-Green technology
-Medical care
-Halal products
-Fashion
-Culture and Tourism

Event organizers Bureau of Foreign Trade and TAITRA have been building the Taiwan Expo since
2017 as the platform to engage with Malaysian businesses, the media, as well as the Malaysian
public from all walks of life. Activities during the expo include business meets, press
conferences, seminars, product demonstrations and cultural performances designed to
introduce Malaysians to Taiwanese tourism, education, culture and industry.

A total of 42,000 visitors participated in the previous years’ events and led to business volume worth some USD86 million. Taiwan Expo is the perfect platform for Malaysians to learn more about Taiwan and up to 88% of visitors have expressed their desire to visit Taiwan within the year.
Penang Green Agenda is the state’s ambitious plan to transform itself for a sustainable future
and one of Taiwan Expo’s main aims in Penang is to introduce Taiwanese information and
communication technologies, smart traffic solutions, innovative products and e-commerce
solutions that can help Penang achieve those aspirations.

The Taiwan Expo 2019 Press Conference was recently held at G Hotel Gurney Penang and I got the chance to also have a look at some of technology and products that were showcased.
