Sea & Grill Buffet Dinner at Hotel Jen Penang by Shangri-La.



Seafood and meat lovers can look forward to a bountiful spread of temptations at Hotel Jen Penang by Shangri-La during their newly launched 'Sea & Grill Buffet Dinner', which is held on every Friday and Saturday at Café Jen. Led by the newly appointed Executive Chef, Chef Mohd Afifi bin Abu Bakar who has more than 26 years of culinary expertise and together with his culinary team, they are set to bring scrumptious delights for you to pamper your palate and tummy. 

From fresh catches from the sea to sizzling meats on the grill, be ready to enjoy the bursting flavours and taste that leaves you wanting more.

Set in a sleek cozy contemporary design, Café Jen sure makes dining pleasurable.



Starting off with Amuse Bouche in Cup, with delicious creations like Grilled Oyster with Spicy Gaspacho, Mussel & Chili Lime Salsa , Smoked Duck Breast with Shallot Jam and Cherry Tomato Caprese & Basil Pesto 



While there, don't forget to grab some appetizing salads like Chicken & Avocado Salad , Potato Salad, and Prawn Salad with Pepper, Celery & Spanish Olive.

The section where many make it their first stop. One of the star attraction - Chilled Seafood on Ice!

Get ready to feast to favourites like Snow Crab Legs, Yabbies, Mussels and Tiger Prawns. Fresh, juicy and succulent, nothing beats that when it comes to enjoying chilled seafood.






Time for some hearty soup. The Cream of Mushroom, not only offers that nice aroma but also has chunky mushrooms in it too.


Off to a wonderful spread of hot dishes with each dish having its own preparation style and its very own unique flavours.

Now this is something we don't usually get often. The rendang was bursting with aroma from the curry and spices used.




Chicken Cacciotore
Similiar to the taste of lasagna, with spinach at the bottom.



Chilli Crab
One taste of this chili crab and you'll be heading for more rounds. The sauce was delish.

Oatmeal Butter Prawn


Ghee Rice
Having Ghee Rice which is already so fragrant, imagine eating that with all the other wonderful dishes. Perfect!


The feast continues to the sizzling grill meat and seafood items. Indulge to delicious grilled delights like Chicken and Beef Satay, Prawn & Squid Vegetable Tempura, Beef Medallions, Lamb Chop, Chicken Chop,  Thüringer Snail Sausage, Banana Leaf Wrapped with Spices with Ikan Pari,  Ikan Kembong and Ikan Bawal. That's a nice selection of variety for you to savour.












Oven Roasted Whole Fish Provencal 


Fancy some noodles and soup? Head over and make yourself a bowl of delicious Mee Kari or Mee Rebus. Just pick your favourite noodle, vegetables, and condiments. Blanch those items for a while, place into your bowl and pour your preferred broth and voila - ready to enjoy.

I like the Mee Kari as the broth was fragrant and had that well creaminess that the dish required.





With all those temptations, don't forget to leave some space for desserts. The mouthwatering sweet treats are hard to resist. Sink your teeth into items like Baked Walnut Tart, Chocolate Fudge Cake, Blueberry Cheesecake, Mango Pudding,  Bread & Butter Pudding, Carrot Cake with Cheese Frosting, Red Velvet Cake, Crème Brûlée, Creampuff, Pandan Kaya Cake,  Green Tea Yoghurt Mousse Cake, Fruit Tartlet,  Assorted Kuih Melayu and Grissini Stick.
