Christmas is just around the corner and Eastern & Oriental Hotel Penang or fondly known as E&O Hotel is all prepared to welcome guest for this festive celebration with a spread of delectable buffet spread.
So lets have a look at what the chefs has stormed up the kitchen with for this magical Christmas dining.
Starting off the meal with items from the Cold Buffet Section.
- Beetroot Marinated Salmon Side, Tumeric Vegetable Pickles
- Homemade Gravlax, Fresh Dill and Lemon Wedges Mustard Dill Dressing
- Seseame Coated Tuna, Japanese Seaweed and Soba Noodle Salad, Soya and Ginger Dip
- Seafood Terrine and Galantines
- Assortment of Crunchy Salad, Dressings and Condiments
Off to some sushis at the Japanese Platter
- Assortment of Nigri Sushi, Maki Rolls, Sashimi and California Rolls
- Wasabi, Pickled Ginger, Soy Sauce
Seafood lovers would be all excited when they come across the fresh succulent seafood items at the Seafood on Ice Section.
- Green New Zealand Mussels, Local Poached Prawns, Yabbies, Poached Crayfish, Spanner Crab, Fresh Oyster with Salsa
- Cocktail Sauce, House Made Japanese Sauce
- Mixed Seafood Ceviche, Coriander, Red Onions, Lime, Tortilla Chips
As for the Soup section, there was the Butternut Squash and Roasted Chestnut Soup Herbs Crouton. I'm not much of a big fan of pumpkin, what more as a soup. But I was surprised as the Butternut Squash in the soup somehow tasted surprisingly good. 2 servings wasn't enough haha
Oysters Gratinated with Special Sauce
While at the Carvery Station, the nice tender juicy Roasted Whole Tom Turkey served with Cranberry Sauce, Chestnut Filling and Giblet Gravy just compliment each other so well. Apart from Turkey, there is also Beef Prim Roast, Lyonnaise Potatoes, Mushroom Fricassee with Pepper Sauce. Every bite of heavenly goodness awaits. Not forgetting Oven roasted medley of root Vegetables, Brussel Sprouts, Creamy Cinnamon Sweet Potatoes.
There is alot of items at the Internation Dishes section. Time to feast into all those delicacies.
Braised Lamb Shank with Pine Nuts and Lemon Rind
Love the mixture of herbs used in dish. The braised lamb shank is flavoured nicely on oeverall.
Seared Snapper, Pepper & Coriander
Roasted Chicken Breast filled with Seafood Mousseline with Crustacean Butter
Traditional Assam King Tiger Prawn
Assam prawns could never go wrong. It's certainly something different to see as it's always fried prawns here, fried prawns there.
Braised Baby Bok Choy with Superior Mushrooms
Yong Chow Fried Rice with "Silver Fish" in Lotus Leaf
The rice was cooked with the right ingredients giving it such a nice aroma and taste.
After a wholehearted meal, nothing beats winding down to some nice sweet Christmas treats.
