Muhibbah Ramadhan Buffet at Nada Lama, Hotel Equatorial Penang


You're in for a gastronomic journey during the upcoming holy month of Ramadhan at Nada Lama, a halal certified all-day dining outlet at Hotel Equatorial Penang. It's a feast that you would have wished your tummy could fill all the delicious spread in. I had the privilege to experience and indulge in the gorgeous delicacies by Malay Cuisine Chef Azami Idris whom has served in star hotels as well as luxury resorts.

As one approaches Nada Lama, you are welcomed by bountiful of food spread across. You will be amazed by the food from the outside as well the ones that awaits you indoor.

So let the feasting begin!


Starting off with a wide spread of appetizers at the Cold Selection. Enjoy items such as fresh garden salad. acars, ulam-ulaman with various sambals to go with it and many more.



Nobody can resist a nice serving of rojak can't we?


Lemang and serunding tasted so nice. A food that I get to enjoy once yearly.


Pick your own greens, dressing and condiments for a nice refreshing starter.


If you love seafood then you will definitely attack the Seafood on Ice section first. You may find seafood items such as oyster, crab, tiger prawns, mussels and yabbies.


Warm the tummy with not 1 but 2 types of soups to choose from. For local they have the sup ayam aneka and for western they have mushroom soup. Beside it is where the bubur lambuk  is.



Take a look at the amount of bread and buns. Looks really good. 




While back at the out door area, the drinks did catch my attention but I became even more happier when I spotted milk shake. Oh yes, milkshake is indeed something which I don't think I have seen in any buffet lines as far I have reviewed. One glass, 2 glass, 3 glass I could go for more haha


The Mongolian BBQ section is indeed something extraordinary. Choose from fresh seafood items such as prawns, squid; or meat items like beef, chicken and lamb and a whole load of assorted fresh vegetables.




Next to it is where the grilling station is. The looks of the grilled items is just so hard to resist. From chicken, chicken and beef satay, beef steak, sausages, chicken wing and squid. Now that's a handful of items to enjoy.






There is even a section to enjoy tempura.


Another highlight would be the Kibas Panggang and Nasi Arab with condiments and sauces. Love the flavour of the tender chunks of meat and the fragrant nasi Arab.


Get the chance to even mix you very own nasi ulam back here. The nasi ulam is one of Chef Azami's specialty.


At the chicken shawarma station, instead of just one, they have 3 types of bread for us to choose from; pita bread, hot dog bun or tortiallas. Guess you will have to try all 3 to know which you like most. haha!


While in the inside stall area, crab lovers will surely love the Equatorial Chili Crab. 


Oh wow there is even a dim sum selection that consist of BBQ chicken pau, siew mai and choi har kep.


Wait! There's more. 

Mee Rebus


They serve 3 types of murtabak and I was actually surprised to see Durian filling as well.  


The love for seafood continues with ikan bakar selection such as siakap, salmon and cencaru sumbat.


While crunch away into the crispiness of karipap, pisang goreng and many more.


Can you believe you have seen so much and there's still so much food still.


While for the main dishes , enjoy items like Nasi tomato, beef hungarian goulash, steam fish with salted vege and bean curd,  mee mamak sotong istimewa and many others.










I wasn't actually sure I was going to like this dish initially but I sure glad I did try it. Though not much of a sotong fan, but love the mixture of the sauce and ingredients used to cook the mee. Was delicious.



Lastly, time for that sugar rush to end the meal. Heaps of delicious looking kuihs and mouthwatering desserts to end the meal with. 




Everything looks so tempting.



A huge variety of fresh juicy tropical fruits all ready to be indulged. 


Icy cool treat of ice kacang is not to be missed. 


Now I'm hungry myself looking at all the photos of the food haha.
