Selera Ramadan: Macam-macam Ada at Royale Chulan Penang

This would be my very first Ramadan review at Royale Chulan Penang (formerly known as The Royale Bintang Penang) and it was indeed such a privilege to be there to experience and indulge in the various myriad of flavours and cuisine they have to offer for this Ramadhan with their Selera Ramadhan: Macam-macam Ada at Sri Tanjung Cafe.

Royale Chulan Penang brings diners on a gastronomic adventure of local traditional local delights to satisfy the palates. So shall we see what they have in store for you in this holy month.

Start off with a selection of salad and appetizers such as kerabu taugeh, kerabu pucuk paku, kerabu tanghoon, acar timun nenas, ulam-ulaman kampung, rojak buah, tauhu sumbat and many more.

One of the must have item during this fasting month is the bubur lambuk.

Sup Tulang Rawan Berempah,a soup that looked simple but packed with flavours. The spices used in the soup certainly offers such nice flavour and aroma.

The cucur kerang berlauk was indeed so tempting. One bite and you would want more of it. The crunchiness was just so addictive.

The kambing panggang golek was nicely marinated with the marination of herbs that gave such nice flavour to the meat. That and the nasi beryani gam, oh heavenly. 

The list of food continues with items such as ayam goreng berempah.

While for the main hot dishes, dig into the favourites such as nasi tomato, spaghetti sambal sotong, ayam masak merah madu, kari ikan tenggiri bendi, kambing bahmia, sweet & sour prawn, daging salai pulut kuah lemak, mix vegetables and many more. 

There is also Penang's favourite item, Char Koay Teow. 

Chicken and beef satay with thick fragrant peanut sauce that just makes you coming back for more of it.

The murtabak was infact really nice. The filling was nicely prepared offering bites with nice chunks of chicken, together with dhall, curry and onion pickled. Nothing beats that.

Of course, nothing like all those mouthwatering desserts that looked so appealing. Sink your teeth into those juicy sweet tropical fruit platter, pandan panna cotta, sago gula melaka, assorted malay kuih, sago pengat pisang, mini créme caramel and many more.

The Chocolate Mousse was something which I had not seen in a while and I think I will need at least 5 of it as it tasted really good.

Pretty interesting craft of the dates on display.

One of the items that caught my attention was the Jetty Apam Balik. I think I have yet to see any buffets that has this on their spread and it was really special. Oh just look at the generous amount of peanuts and corn. Yummeh!

Bubur Kacang Hijau was a popular hit. Fragrant with the right consistency and mild sweet.

The food that you have seen certainly "buka selera". So do pop over to Royale Chulan Penang and feast into all the festive goodies they have to offer this Ramadan.
