A La Carte Buffet Dinner & Dessert Table at G Hotel Kelawai



G Hotel Kelawai has just recently introduced another round of exciting promo for SPOON. This time around their latest promo, A La Carte Buffet Dinner is set to further tantalize the taste buds with the variety of main selections from the menu as well as the wide selection of choices from the buffet spread.

All you have to do is place your order for the main courses, it's unlimited orders and your food is cooked upon order.  While your mains are being prepared, pop over to the buffet spread and grab your favourite items from the salad bar, appetizers, cold cuts, cheese, soups and desserts.

Let's take a look at all the mouth-watering treats that is specially prepared for this promo.




The main man behind the kitchen, Chef Mohd Firdaous bin Mohd Izhar - the new Executive Chef in G Hotel with over 20 years of experience in hotels and restaurants. Classic French cuisine is one of his specialties with Fusion and Asian cooking as well.



Let's take a peek at all the wonderful dishes. Fortunately, the portions served are smaller, therefore you can enjoy more items too.

Tender on every bite. Served with greens and yorkshire pudding.

Chicken Cordon Bleu
Can't get enough of this little serving of cordon bleu. Enjoyed the crispy outer and moist inside.


Seafood Bouillabaisse with Garlic Choucroute
A bowl of seafood richness. This French dish is made mainly of mussels, fish and prawns while the aromatic tangy rich flavour stock is just delightfully delicious on overall.



Salmon En Papilotte with Capers
Lovely chunks of salmon with a lil tinge of sourness from the lemon.



Duck Confit with Mashed Potato and Apple Salad
The marination consisting of salt, thyme orange juice and cinnamon does give the duck a nice balance flavour. The apple salad just brings up the appetite even more.

Assam Pedas Oxtail
Mention about assam pedas and many would say is their favourite item too. The mixture of flavourful ingredients such laksa leaves, ginger flowers, shrimp paste, assam water and many more gives you that addictive taste of spicy and sourness. Oh so good! After all, it's one of Malaysia's all time favourite dish right ;) 



Red Curry duck with Lychee and Pineapple 


Fried Rice with Minced Chicken and Thai Basil
I just love the wonderful aroma and taste that the basil does to the minced chicken.


Rendang Lamb Shank
Oh my rendang! The rendang was nicely done with such beautiful flavours on every spoon with rice. The ingredients like onions, lemongrass, dry chillies, garlic and gula Melaka surely does create a delicious rendang gravy. While the lamb shank was packed with flavours absorbed from the gravy.



Thai Soup Noodle 



Roasted Chicken with Kerabu Mango Sauce
The fusion twist by using kerabu mango sauce does give it a nice refreshing taste. A little of mild spicy kick, fragrance of the mango sauce surely welcomes an appetizing appetite.


Thai Beef Hor Fun
This is one of my favourite. One bite and you can't resist. The beautiful flavour and moist taste of the hor fun was just perfect. It was cooked with some chili to give a lil nice boost of spicy taste. Not forgetting the tender slices of beef which was delicious.


Baby Kailan with Oyster Sauce


Stir Fried Tiger Prawn with Sichuan Bean Sauce
Fresh succulent tiger prawns are coated with a rich sweet and spicy Sichuan bean sauce.



Salad Bar


A nice selection of appetizers such as beetroot gravlax, smoked salmon, smoked butterfish. caprese,  Vietnamese spring roll, tuna nicoise and smoked duck with orange.











Love cheese? Just so happy to spot brie cheese at the cheese section.

Lastly, my favourite part of all. DESSERTS!  Remember to spare some space for all these sweet treats. The desserts are always hard to resist. The temptation is real.

Now imagine yourself seated at this table (below pic) and in front of you are all the beautiful artistic spread of premium chocolates. And the best part, you get to sit and eat there on the spot. You would be thrilled right? I was super excited seeing it. hehe..




It's the newly launched, Dessert Table. I must say this is one of its kind back here in Penang and probably something new in Malaysia too.  The whole idea is, it's an artistic way of presentation and yes! you actually get to eat it after it's completed. Think along the line of seafood on the table, well it's kinda similiar along that line but instead of seafood, its all about chocolates and more chocolates. 
So cool!

What happens is, the chef prepares the table and starts creatively and artistically paints the table with chocolates at the same time places various chocolates on the table.

So from this empty looking table to a chocolate art.
