Welcome to Penang, STARLUX Airlines. For those who plan to travel to Taiwan, you can now fly directly to Taipei daily with Taiwan's latest premium boutique airline, STARLUX Airlines. The airline's inaugural flight took place on the 23 January 2020 which also marks the launch of its flights to 3 destinations - Penang, Macau and Da Nang.
The advanced A321neo aircraft landed in Penang International Airport about 2.20pm and was welcomed by a water canon salute. The
aircraft has 188 seats - 8 in business class and 180 in economy
class. Each seat in business class is equipped with a 15.6-inch 1080p inflight
entertainment system screen and can transform into an 82-inch fully flat bed. While passengers in the economy class can stretch out with a generous 31-inches
of leg room and enjoy a personal entertainment system featuring a 10.1-inch
720p screen, which is the first on narrow-body aircraft in Taiwan.
WiFi service is available in both classes.
Passengers can look forward to exciting features such as playful 3D
animated inflight safety video, the design and texture of the cabin seats, the
exclusive cabin frangrance to the tailormade boarding music by the famous
jazz musician, Peter White and the inflight meal specially prepared by Michelin-star
chef Lam Ming Kin. Not only that, STARLUX has prepared a journey experience to satisfy all
five senses of each passenger.

According to General Manager of Airlines Marketing, Malaysia Airports, Encik
Mohamed Sallauddin Hj Mat Sah, “We would like to welcome STARLUX Airlines
to join the 17 foreign carriers that are currently operating at Penang International
Airport. With daily flights from Taiwan, this new route will benefit our Malaysian
tourism during VM2020. Penang International Airport has handled more than 8
million passengers in 2019 and saw a 3.9% growth from the previous year for
passengers from Taiwan alone. We hope to further strengthen the growing
demands between these two destinations and further elevate the tourism
industry for the state.”

There will be daily flights between Penang and Taiwan. The outbound flights take off at 3pm and arrives at Taoyuan
International Airport at around 8pm. The inbound flights depart at 9.20am and
lands at Penang International Airport at 2pm.
