Launching of The Table From Golden Circle at Golden Sands Resort Penang

It was an evening to remember during the recent of launch of The Table by Golden Circle at Golden Sands Resort Penang. I was indeed very fortunate and honoured to be invited for the launch, certainly a privilege to be there.

The prestigious event was held at the  Glass Terrace, a recent addition to The Terrace by Garden CafĂ©. 

Set-up looks beautiful doesn't it?

Guest were honoured with a beautiful flower garland upon arrival. This was my first time being honoured in such way and I must say, those flowers was a lil heavy.

Guest were treated to a Pre-Cocktail at the garden surrounded by a beautiful sight of lush greenery. 

A spectacular fire performance took place just before guest were ushered to the venue.

Mr Noel D'Couto, Hotel Manager gave his warm welcome speech enlighting us further about what The Table was about. He said "Dining out with Shangri-La Group is set to be an adventurous discovery every morsels and every dish. We hope that you will in turn take time to enjoy every bite and burst of flavours, be it your morning pick, breakfast, tea break or full course meal. Of course, every item in your order goes towards the Golden Circle Award Point, so do redeeem privileges, for even greater dining outing, that exclusive tasting event or that limited seats invitation only get together with a special guest, as and when you please.

It was then time for guest to be pampered by the special creations which were categorized under 5 moods.

Pan Seared Scallop
Smoked salmon cheese, semi-dried tomatoes, avocado puree and caviar with honey coriander dressing.

A bite into the scallop with the caviar on top just gives that nice popping munch inside. While the big juicy scallops was just beautiful.

Lobster Bisque
Served with baby lobster and crispy nut.

The richness in flavours in the soup was delightful. One serving wouldn't be enough to satisfy the craving :) 

Lemongrass Citrus Sorbet
Served with apple and dragon fruit salsa

This was an eye-catcher from afar. The sorbet was served on a big block of ice. You would love the refreshing taste the sorbet offered.

Main Course
Australian Beef Rossini
With potato puree, duck liver and morel mushroom sauce

It's like the best of both worlds in a plate. The juicy tender beef cut, cooked to perfection while the buttery silky smooth duck liver was another gem on the plate.

Chocolate Fudge
Served with Mascarpone cream, crumble and fresh berry

A dessert that certainly puts the smile on your tummy. The rich chocolate taste on every bite of moist fudge together with the crumble is heavenly good.
