G Hotel Gurney Penang presents "Lyrical Abstraction", an art exhibition by internationally renowned contemporary abstract Malaysian born artist, Richard Wong Chin-Kim. The exhibition is open to public from 1 November 2018 to 31 January 2019. I had the privilege to be there during the recent launch at the G Art Gallery which is located on the Link Bridge on the 1st floor of the hotel.
His masterpieces are inspired by the beauty of the places that he travels such as countries of the Pacific rims and many other places in Asia such as Yunnan, Tibet, Nepal and even Silk road, China.
With 43 years of experience, Richard has already done more than 30 over exhibitions locally as well as internationally including countries such as Canada, Australia, France, Korea, Japan and China. Richard has also received accolades including the Gold Medal Award by Beijing International Art Exhibition (China) in 2010, Highest Honour Foreign Minister's Award by the 36th Nichigenten Art Exhibition 2017 (Japan) and many more to name.
Below is Richard's artwork which he gave some finishing touches during the launch.
As easy as it looks, but it certainly requires skills and techiniques to create such masterpieces. The motion and handling of the painting tools to create such pattern.
The masterpiece was then presented to G Hotel Gurney as a gift.
Richard sharing further details on his artwork.
"Lyrical Abstraction" presents 20 masterpieces which is inspired by his trip to the Canadian Rockies back in 2009. You get to enjoy all the beautiful artwork that shows much about the nature's beauty over there including the rocky snow places.
Richard's paintings are available for public viewing and is for sale, so if you do happened to spot the artwork that you love, just headover to the Front Office and they will be able to assist you further.
