The Light Hotel Penang Contributes RM20,000 Worth of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for the Frontliners in Hospital Seberang Jaya, Penang 

The Light Hotel Penang claimed to be the first hotel in Malaysia to collaborate

with Yayasan MyPrihatin in support with DUN Seberang Jaya to contribute RM20,000 worth of

Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).

We are glad to help show our valiant medical frontliners in Hospital Seberang Jaya, Penang

that they're never alone - especially during the COVID-19 pandemic, said The Light Hotel (M)

Sdn Bhd, Dato Haji KK Sihabutheen bin Kirudu Mohamed. To add on the statement, The Light

Hotel General Manager mentioned through Yayasan MyPrihatin's platform Project Prihatin

under Program Jana Ekonomi Prihatin, we are able to produce PPE to protect our medical

frontliners who have sacrificed their energy and personal safety to look after their patients.

Under the Projek Prihatin initiative, some 15 single mothers from Pusat Menjahit DUN Seberang

Jaya under the helm of Y.B. Dr. Afif bin Bahardin were involved in the production of the PPE.

Apart from extending our support to the frontliners, we are also able to provide the opportunity

for these individuals to generate income during economic difficulties brought on by the

pandemic.

The contribution complements recent initiatives by The Light Hotel Penang through its

corporate social responsibility (CSR) which had contributed 10,000 shower caps to aid staff in

Hospital Seberang Jaya as well. We are hopeful this will help hospitals and healthcare frontliners mitigate the spread of the Covid-19 pandemic in Penang and Malaysia.
