The children from Salvation Army Penang Children's Home had an enjoyable evening on the 21st December 2023 as they received their Christmas presents and unwrapped them in excitement. This was all possible with G Hotel Gurney's annual tradition of "A Time To Give", a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative which began back in 2008 and has brought lots of joy, happiness and smiles to many children over the years. 



A total of 20 children from the Salvation Army Penang Children's Home were hosted by the hotel for this year's A Time To Give. The children made their way over to G Spot for the exciting evening. They performed Christmas dance and caroling. Followed by the most anticipated moment - unwrapping of their presents. 

The children had earlier placed their wish cards with 2 wishes on the Christmas tree which was located at the lobby of the hotel and during 26 November to 15 December,  members of the public had the opportunity to pick those wishlist and grant the children their wish. G Hotel made it merrier for the children and granted them additional 2 wishes. In total, there were 80 gifts that were collected for the children. 

Santa and Santarina made their special appearance and handed out Christmas goodies to the children. They went home with wide happy smiles, lots of gifts and tummy filled with delicious treats served by the hotel.

A heartfelt thank you goes out to all the donors and everyone who played a pivotal role in making the wishes of 20 children come true. We are delighted and proud to contribute something back to society. Your contributions have not only brought smiles but also created a sense of joy and hope for each child. Bringing joy and hope is our goal for each child," said Michael Hanratty, General Manager of G Hotel. 'A Time to Give' has once again successfully touched the hearts of the public, encouraging them to give back to the community, especially during this festive season, reassuring the less fortunate that they are not forgotten by society.















It was a delightful moment to see the children glowing with smiles as they unwrap all of their Christmas presents. In this difficult and challenging times, things are even tougher for these homes. Thank you to all those who has given to these children and to the home generously. <3
