Sinaran Syawal at Queensbay Mall, Penang

The Holy Month of Ramadan is here. A month of self-reflecting and spreading care and love prior to the arrival of the most awaited joyful 1st Syawal. Hari Raya Aidilfitri, a traditional celebration, bringing lots of fun and happiness to everyone. Back at Queensbay Mall, it is richly illuminated to welcome the festivity with much gaiety.

For this year, the Hari Raya celebration comes with the theme “Sinaran Syawal”. March coincides with the mall's ‘Go Green’ month annually as they also observe Earth Hour on 23 March 2024. Since, this year the holy Ramadan month begins in March, they have strived to compliment both by merging Malay traditional motifs, structures, and elements into a green conceptual garden. Filled with palm trees, pretty, bright coloured flowers, lamps of various sizes and shapes, lighted crescent, and stars, and fairy lights all over the railing brings out the ray of lights which signify the new moon of Syawal. Batik motif is also intricately added to our Raya decorations at the mall to give the entire atmosphere a more traditional feel. The flooring with Batik motif creates an elegant and warm feel to the entire ambience.
